Infuzionz, LLC d/b/a NectarBee has announced it is voluntarily recalling its NectarBee Cherry Cola infused sodas, due to its use of pure nutmeg and cassia essential oils, which were not certified as food grade. These essential oils are used in very small amounts as a flavoring additive. While the essential oils in question are labeled as 100% pure, and there have not been any reports of illnesses or adverse health effects associated with this product, it is being recalled out of an abundance of caution. This relates only to Cherry Cola sodas; no other products are involved in this announcement. Working with Denver’s Department of Public Health and Environment in full cooperation, all existing inventory of the product has been pulled from retailer shelves and destroyed. Any consumers who have purchased this product are encouraged to return unused product to the store from which they purchased it from for a store credit. Consumers with any questions regarding this announcement, including how to return said product, should email firstname.lastname@example.org..
